We will not know what choirs are selected to compete until Sunday, March 8, 2020.  All four show choirs will attempt to qualify.  Please do not make plans on this day.

Performance Schedule
A performance schedule of all selected Instrumental Jazz Ensembles and Show Choirs is available from the ISSMA website at: http://www.issma.net The Instrumental Jazz Ensemble session will begin Friday evening, March 16th at 6:00pm. Show Choir
Performances will be scheduled on Saturday, March 17th.. The Unisex Division session will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the Mixed Division session begins at 4:00 p.m. There will not be an “Evening Finals”.

Performance Site
The North Central High School Auditorium is in Indianapolis, Indiana. For those wishing to use Google Maps, the address for North Central is 1801 E. 86th St., Indianapolis, IN 46240.

Admission will be available in the auditorium lobby. Student admission is $11.00 per session and Adult admission is $13.00 per session. Full Event admission for all three sessions (Friday Instrumental Jazz and both Saturday Show Choir sessions) is $18.00 for
students and $20.00 for adults. Performers, crew, and chaperones must receive wrist bands from the director.

Bus drop off for all performers will be at Door #4 on the east side of the building. For Show Choirs only, equipment entrance will beat Door #5 on the east side of the building. Bus and Equipment parking will be located in the J. Everett Light Center lot. Spectator
parking will be located on the west side of North Central. There is no fee for parking.

Spectators may enter through Door #31. On Saturday, the building will be open at 6:30am. The auditorium doors will not be open for spectators until 5 minutes prior to the first performance in each division (and the auditorium will be cleared following the Unisex Division awards). The auditorium doors will be closed and no one permitted to enter 5 minutes prior to each group’s performance time. Please plan your arrival accordingly. Only authorized chaperones will be admitted to the homerooms. Spectators should remain in the Auditorium or Cafeteria.

Cameras and Videos
For the safety of all performers and to comply with all copyright laws, absolutely no photography or videotaping is allowed. Bateman Photographic Studios will be taking action shots of the performances and photos can be ordered on-line. No DVD’s of the
performances will be made available for purchase.

Souvenir Shirts and Programs
A limited number Souvenir shirts and Programs will be available at all performance sessions. The cost of a souvenir shirt is $20 and the program cost is $5.

Award Jewelry
Balfour is the official supplier of all award jewelry for ISSMA events. All performers at this event are eligible to purchase specially designed award jewelry.

An awards ceremony will be held following each session. During the awards ceremonies, all groups will be recognized as “State Finalists”. The Instrumental Jazz Awards will include a special trophy for the Instrumental Jazz Honor Ensemble and numerous
caption awards. A $350 scholarship to the Butler University Summer Jazz Camp will be presented to the director of the Honor Ensemble. The director will select a rising senior or younger from the ensemble as the recipient based on outstanding musical contributions, attitude, and participation.

Show Choirs will receive placement trophies and caption awards for Best Vocals, Best Visuals, and Best Instrumental Ensemble. The American Dairy Association Indiana in collaboration with Prairie Farms Dairy will award a $1,000 “Winners Drink Milk” scholarship to the Unisex and Mixed State Show Choir Champion School from both the Large School and Small School Classification.

Food Service
The school cafeteria will be open Saturday from 8:30am – 9:00pm for breakfast, lunch and dinner. As a courtesy to the host school, no food should be brought into the school from outside.
